The VIA V-RAID Software Package supports VIA V-RAID technology. It includes a software tool and drivers to support the RAID functions of the controllers listed below. It is also required to detect SATA devices attached to these SATA controllers, even when they are not being utilized in RAID mode.
VT6410 PATA RAID controller for RAID 0, 1, JBODC0+1
Discrete VT6420 RAID controllers for RAID 0, 1, JBOD.
Discrete VT6421 RAID controllers for RAID 0, 1, JBOD, 0+1.
VT8237/VT8237Plus/VT8237R/VT 8237A integrated SATA controllers, set at RAID mode, for RAID 0, 1, JBOD.
VT8251 integrated SATA controller, set at RAID mode, for RAID 0, 1, JBOD, 0+1, 5 (supported from version 5.00 onwards)
VIA CX700/VX700 integrated IDE controller including the different SATA/PATA channels, set at RAID mode, for RAID 0, 1, JBOD, 0+1 (supported from version V 5.30a onwards)
The system BIOS must include the VIA Operation ROM binary to support the V-RAID Software Package. System BIOS updates should be obtained from the motherboard manufacturer.
The package is available as a stand alone software package and is also included in the VIA HyperionPro driver package. It supports all Microsoft Operating Systems including, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows NT 4.0, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server2003, Windows XP 64-Bit and Windows Server 2003 x64 plus beta support for Windows Vista. |
