WD Universal Firmware Updater automatically detects and installs the latest firmware update available for your Western Digital hard drive.

WD Universal Firmware Updater is portable, so extract and run WDFirmwareUpdater.exe and follow the steps. Note you will need to close all programs, remove any USB devices besides your keyboard and mouse and disconnect any other hard drives.

After updating, unplug your computer for 10 seconds, plug in anything you unplugged and boot. If you don't disconnect any additional drives, the program will not find your WD hard drive.
