Editor's Note: Most new Intel computers with Realtek drivers can use the more frequently updated Realtek AC97 and High Definition Audio drivers found in our driver section. This file exists for those who have trouble with that driver on their Intel board and it has not been updated since March 2007.

Installs the audio driver for Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® High Definition Audio and the Realtek* codec. (WHQL certified)

IMPORTANT: Audio drivers may fail to install in Windows* XP 64-Bit Edition. Symptoms may include error messages, such as "Error in installation" or "Unknown error". Microsoft's Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB901105) fixes this issue. After installing this update, the audio drivers for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will successfully install.
