CheckSecurity is a utility for quickly checking for the presence of vulnerable applications.

It can check for:

1. User Account Control (UAC).
2. Service Pack.
3. IE version.
4. Auto Update OS.
5. Anti-virus, firewall.
6. Versions of Java, Oracle Virtualbox.
7. Version Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Shockwave Player, Adobe AIR.
8. Versions of Adobe Reader, Acrobat Reader DC, Foxit Reader.
9. Version Bonjour, iTunes.
10. Versions of Silverlight, Skype.
11. Versions of installed browsers (Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Yandex, SeaMonkey).
12. Version e-mail programs (The Bat, Thunderbird).
13. Check the running processes browsers.
14. Search for the most common Adware-programs.

The app is a little crude with some bad English (goes check, please wait, for example) but that's easy to overlook. There is no real interface. Instead, it quietly checks everything while you wait and notifies you that the log file has been copied to the clipboard. It adds a folder called SecurityCheck with the text file in that folder. The text file isn't too difficult to read, but there is some block code in the text file. Many forum software uses block code as a way to allow users to use HTML without the security risks.

That said, you can run it with switches that you should be aware of. These include:

- / htmllog - Create an additional log file to HTML.
- / program - Adds to log all the installed programs.
- / the unwanted - Just search for Adware.

There's a little confusion over the name. The homepage calls it Check Security, Security Check, Glax24 by the Check Security, and the app calls it SecurityCheck, so we went with that.
