A 10-year-old Finn, identified as Jani, was awarded $10,000 by Facebook's bug bounty program after discovering a vulnerability in the Instagram coding which allowed him to delete any message in the application.
According to a Forbes report, Jani told the Finnish publication Iltalehti: “I would have been able to eliminate anyone, even Justin Bieber.”
Facebook posted to a test account and Jani verified his find by deleting the comment. The flaw was patched in Feb. 2016.
Although Jani is 10 years old, technically too young to have an account on Facebook or Instagram, he is the youngest recipient of the bug bounty program. Jani claims that he learned his hacking skills by watching YouTube videos and hopes to one day become a white hat hacker.
