Aidan Mohr, 20, was dropped off at an emergency room early Saturday morning. He was found in a wheelchair, with a Post-it note on his person that gave his name, and that he had drank too much and needed help.
Mohr had been at a party, and allegedly took part in a drinking contest. His friends panicked after he had passed out and started shaking and turning blue before the student's fraternity brothers dropped him at the hospital, police said. The fraternity brothers initially tried taking the victim to one of their homes because they were afraid of getting into trouble.
AZCentral spoke to Tempe Police Department spokesman Sgt. Mike Pooley, who said; The 20-year-old student, a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, was left unconscious in a wheelchair at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital at about 4 p.m. Saturday. There was a Post-it note with a friend’s name and phone number stuck onto him.
Pooley said officers told him the note mentioned the student took part in a drinking competition.
Emergency room staff noticed him and immediately began treating him, Pooley said.
“He was turning blue in the wheelchair and he was... having difficulties breathing,” he said. “The emergency room staff treated him very quickly, they’re able to get him checked out and they’re able to actually save his life.”

The exact symptoms the student suffered were not clear, but Pooley said it was the result of alcohol over-consumption and asphyxiation on his own vomit. He had a 0.47 percent blood-alcohol content. A driver in Arizona is considered intoxicated at 0.08 percent.
The student and a group of friends were celebrating the completion of the semester and began drinking at about 2 p.m. Saturday at a residence in Tempe, Pooley said. The student was challenged to a shot-drinking contest and between 2 and 4 p.m. drank about 20 shots of tequila, police said.
At some point, his eyes rolled into the back of his head, he passed out and started vomiting, Pooley said. Some friends said he just needed to sleep it off, while others thought he needed to be taken to the hospital.
