Three Florida men were arrested after they stole a 9 foot tall, 600 pound, purple metal chicken. The bird brained trio then proceeded to drag the metal hen down the road, one of the men of course was riding bare back. No mention of alcohol, but I suspect that there was.
Jacksonville.com reports that at about 6 a.m. Tuesday a resident in the 200 block of East Florida heard some commotion and saw the three stealing the 9-foot, 600-pound chicken statue.
The three hooked the chicken to a Chevrolet truck and dragged it a mile down the road. Ben Smith told deputies that one of the thieves mounted and rode the purple aluminum bird, the Sheriff’s Office said.

After that, they unhooked the chicken and flew the coop. Putnam detectives found the young men the next day.
Darrin Luke Edwards, 19, was charged with grand theft and violation of probation. Tyler Lee Jones, 21, and James Joseph Smith, 18, were charged with grand theft.
Jones and Smith were each released from the Putnam County Jail on a $1,004 bond and Edwards is still being held in jail without bond.
