8 year old drives drunken dad home from pub, results as expected

A father in Gielniow, Poland had the good sense to realize he was too intoxicated to drive home from the pub; rather than call a taxi, Mikolaj Tomaszewski, called his 8 year old son and instructed him to ride his bike to the pub and pick him up.

According to the Mirror, Tomaszewski told police that the youngster had practiced driving at a local supermarket parking lot, and thought it would be fine for his son to drive him the short distance home.

But as the eight-year-old struggled behind the wheel of the Opel Corsa he pulled in front of a car coming the other way at a crossing, and that sent him careering over the road into a third car.

A total of 5 people were taken to the hospital, including Tomaszewski and the boy, with minor cuts and bruises.

Tomaszewski was arrested for endangering the life of a minor and causing an accident, and faces up to five years in jail if convicted.
