Adobe PDF Reader Phish Warning

Contributed by: Email on 03/26/2012 07:30 AM [ comments Comments ]

Phish and Spam are never a tasty match.

A bunch of these e-mails are showing up lately and not being caught with spam filters (yet). Enough so that we figured we'd post it up and issue a "Danger, Will Robinson!" type of warning. The e-mail essentially claims to be from Adobe and solicits you to upgrade your Adobe PDF reader.

As most of you know, Adobe's products have a built in updater that will prompt you not from e-mail, but from your systray on your computer. There not a a reason for them to e-mail you directly for an update.

Another red flag, the spam mail uses a physical address for itself - but that comes back to a Canadian Online Insurance company, Adobe is in San Jose, California - Not Canada. Who wants to bet there was a recent "claim denied" letter in the mix somewhere in this drama?

Anyway, if you see the below email - delete it don't click it. Unless you want to spend the rest reading our
Malware Removal Guide.

Enjoy.
