Being delayed while traveling is par for the course; it happens all the time to everyone, and it is at the very least quite annoying. But you grab a tiny vodka and read SkyMall a few (hundred) times and it is all over. Not this time.....
Well, they must not have had enough tiny vodka on this RyanAir flight to Paris that was delayed for more than four hours - passengers became increasingly angry until they began shopping in a manner of speaking.
The plane was diverted to Spain due to a sick passenger, after the sick passenger was taken off of the plane and they were underway again - But it was too late in the evening to land at the scheduled destination. This caused another unscheduled landing at an airport over 300 miles away from Paris; passengers were informed that they would have to spend the night.
According to The Local, the atmosphere quickly became tense and things soon started to turn ugly. Some passengers refused to leave the aircraft, others allegedly stole food, drinks and items offered for sale on the plane, reports said.
A baggage handler at Nantes airport denounced the actions of the rebellious passengers saying they showed "almost animal and barbaric behavior towards the plane, the crew and the ground staff."
Airport staff were forced to call in the police to keep the peace, but it appears they arrived too late to prevent the sacking of the plane.
