Always set the parking brake on your cruise ship

The Carnival cruise ship that was involved previously in a drifting incident with passengers trapped on board due to an engine fire broke free from the dock where it has been since February for repairs.

A surprise storm with wind gusts hitting 65 mph broke the ship free from mooring lines, and reportedly knocked a security guard into Mobile Bay, he has still not been found as of yet.

As it was adrift it did hit several other objects in the bay, and then came to rest on a cargo ship. Damage could be seen on the right side of the stern, but was not considered to be major.

CNN had this statement from Carnival spokeswoman Joyce Oliva: "The Triumph, which was adrift for several hours, was secured at a dock at the Alabama Cruise Terminal on Wednesday night, tugboats will remain next to ship as as precaution, and all of the company's crew members and contractors on the ship have been accounted for."
