Amazon is trying to build up some intrigue for the June 18 launch of the company's new smartphone, which is thought to be a holographic 3D phone. The addition of the device will certainly fuel the rivalry with Apple which has been going pretty strong recently.
The teaser video shows people interacting with a device just out of screenshot, they seem to be tilting the device and adjusting the position of their heads accordingly, seemingly to view an astonishing graphic - or maybe the MajorGeeks homepage.
Aside from the standard rear and front-facing cameras, according to the Telegraph, the device is reported to feature an additional four front-facing infrared cameras that work with other sensors to facilitate the software’s 3D effects.
These four cameras are reportedly situated in each of the four corners on the face of the phone, and are used to track the position of the user’s face and eyes in relation to the phone’s display.
This allows Amazon’s software to make constant adjustments to the positioning of on-screen elements, altering the perspective of visuals on the screen.
