Angry Birds is a Video game franchise created by Rovio Entertainment of Finland. The game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009. Millions of copies have been sold from Apple's app store prompting Apple to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, including the Android, Symbian and Windows Phone.

This move brings iOS in league with Android users who have been enjoying the Angry little Birds for free all along.

The app had been priced at $0.99 for iPhone and iPod Touch, and up to $2.99 for HD version on iPad. This is the first time that Angry Birds will be listed as a free app for iOS.

I wonder if that makes them Happy Birds? Probably not, but surely it does make some players of the game happy.
