Anheuser-Busch and Facebook are testing online sales and gifting of Budweiser and Bud Light starting Tuesday in Chicago and Denver.

According to USA Today recipients redeem an online voucher at a bar or restaurant -- and show their ID to prove they are of drinking age. To get their gifted beer, they just click on the News Feed post. Those who want to gift a Bud enter their credit card information before sending a gift.



Ads for the program will only be shown to Facebook users 21 or older. Online food and beverage gift service Gratafy is handling the purchase and redemption process.


Of course if you wanted to buy your friend a beer you might want to buck up for something with some taste or maybe meet them in the real world but that’s just my 2 cents.
