AOL today said it is investigating a security incident involving unauthorized access to a significant number of user accounts, although only about 2% are affected.
The information included email addresses, encrypted passwords, answers to security questions, postal addresses and address book information, AOL said. There was no indication that the encryption on the passwords or security questions was broken, AOL added.
MarketWatch reports that there's no indication that users' financial information was accessed during the breach.
In other news, somewhere, people still use AOL. All I ever see is spam from their email myself.
