Want to buy an Apple-1 built by Steve Jobs in his garage? You'll probably need to shell out $600,000 according to Christie's, the auction house.
Charles Ricketts was the original owner who bought it straight out of Job's garage in Los Altos, Ca. It is currently owned by Robert Luther, a collector from Virginia. He purchased the machine from a police auction in 2004.
Andrew McVinish, Christie's director of decorative arts, explained the estimated price: "It all started with the Apple-1 and with this particular machine."
"When you see a child playing with an iPad or iPhone, not too many people know that it all started with the Apple-1. So to be able to own a machine that started the digital revolution is a very powerful attraction."
