As Bitcoin Rises, so Does Phishing Attacks on Wallets

Posted by: Timothy Tibbetts on 12/11/2017 07:31 AM [ comments Comments ]

As Bitcoin continues to rise, it's been receiving more attention than ever before, and that includes the criminals.

Crooks are going all out to try and take over accounts, steal funds, and sell the coins while the market is hot.

Of course, this highlights one of the significant problems of Bitcoin - security. Imagine saving all those Bitcoins up only to lose them all with virtually no recourse.

For one example, CheckPhish has spotted five phishing domains targeting Blockchain, one of the most prominent and well-known wallet services.

But wait, there's more. LocalBitcoins, a favorite exchange, is also a target. And that's just what we know. Be sure you have used secure passwords and have those passwords written down. On paper. Maybe on a dollar bill?
