Sorin Condrache, 36, of Craiova, Romania, was sentenced to 70 months in jail for skimming $900,000 from ATM machines. ATM Skimmer Gets 70 Months In Jail
Also part of his sentence includes the restitution of $$905,901, the sum he stole from his victims. The victims were located in five US states, namely Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Condrache used a skimming device which he placed over the card reader and also installed a pin hole camera to record the Pin numbers of his victims.
With the data he collected, he was able to create debit cards or gift cards to steal the money from his victims bank accounts.
Sadly enough, this is not the first time Condrache has served prison time for ATM skimming. Back in 2006, he was arrested and jail in Ireland for the same crime and served four years.
