Bing and Yahoo suffered an outage on Friday night.
Yahoo!'s search engine, which is powered by Microsoft, similarly collapsed for a brief period of time last night.
According to Reuters, Microsoft had to shut down its groups of linked servers to recover from the errors which led to the shut down of the search engines.
