BlackBerry Z10 Returns Outnumber Sales?

I wish any company success. It’s America, we are capitalists, and it’s what we do. I had, and still hope Blackberry can succeed. Android and Apple are your two choices in smartphones with Microsoft and Blackberry checking in at about 2% market share each. Now, I hate discussing politics but this reminds me of the current 2 party system we have in place with a few other parties vying for your attention and never succeeding. Choice is good.

Now, according to a report from Detwiler Fenton, customer returns of the Z10 are actually outnumbering sales.

“We believe key retail partners have seen a significant increase in Z10 returns to the point where, in several cases, returns are now exceeding sales, a phenomenon we have never seen before,” Detwiler analyst Jeff Johnston writes in the report.

Of course, I am still in the market for an analyst job because who are these people and where do they get their information? Sidebar – I am willing to accept a meteorological job, especially if it is in Florida.

BlackBerry isn’t letting this stand - “BlackBerry wishes to respond to media coverage today regarding speculation that there have been abnormally high levels of returns of BlackBerry Z10 devices. This is absolutely false. Our data shows that return rates for BlackBerry Z10 devices both in the U.S. and on a global basis are in line with or better than our expectations and are consistent with return rates for other premium smartphones in the market today.”

BlackBerrys stock remains flat, although it was up 0.01 meaning 0.07% at close Thursday.
