Twitter has announced a major rebranding of its platform, changing its name to X and introducing a new logo, color scheme, and features. The company said the rebranding reflects its evolution from a microblogging service to a social network that connects people with their interests, passions, and communities.Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app

Musk seems to like the letter X. Having launched an online payment system called X.com in 1999 that was sold to PayPal. He later repurchased the domain X.com in 2017, making one wonder how long this "everything app" has been on his mind.
X/Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarinno released a tweet ... will it still be called a tweet? ... anyway. She released a ...statement on the X platform outlining the future of X:
X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we're just beginning to imagine.

The rebranding will take effect on August 1, 2023. Users can update their app or access the new website at X.com. The company said it will provide more details and guidance on transitioning to the new platform in the coming days.
