California surpasses the 100,000 mark in electric vehicles

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 09/10/2014 10:00 AM [ comments Comments ]

California, according to the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, has reached the 100,000 plug-in cars used in the state. California residents buy about 40 percent of the plug-in electric vehicles sold in the U.S., or 102,440 between December 2010 and August 2014.

Executive Director, Christine Kehoe said: "California's plug-in electric vehicle market is ramping up, and we expect to see significant growth over the next ten years as customers realize how economical and convenient they are."

In an effort to advance the development of electric vehicles, Tesla has announced that it will not file any lawsuits against companies that want to use its patented technology for electric vehicles.
