A car was struck by the Hermann Park "Express" in Houston, TX., the train has been a fixture in the extremely popular public park in the city for decades.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the miniature train has operated since 1957, was upgraded in 2009. It now stops at three mini-stations for connections to museums, the Texas Medical Center and Metro's light rail system.
There are not a lot of details on the cause of the accident at this time, but it looks as though the driver ignored the flashing lights and attempted to sneak through the gates. The driver most likely assumed that they could make it through before the train arrived and failed the mini Darwin test with flying colors. No one was injured in the accident.
At least they get a do over!
