A couple in china sold their two male children to human traffickers in order to pay for in-game item purchases. The couple was turned in by the man's father after he learned of the evil duos plan.
According to GamesInAsia, the parents in question are A Hui and A Mei (not their full names), a young, unwed couple from China’s post-90s generation. In a television interview on Guangdong TV conducted from a local detention center, they revealed that neither their first or second child were planned, and A Mei said that A Hui had no intention of supporting the children financially. Instead, to avoid the financial burden, they sold them to Fujian-based child traffickers on two separate occasions in an attempt to keep up with A Hui's gaming habit
“[A Hui] likes buying items in online games, and he likes staying out all night at internet cafes,” A Mei told reporters.
The couple is currently being held in jail awaiting trial.
