Life imitating art.
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested in New Zealand on charges of attempting to arrange a murder, possession of meth (which seems to go hand in hand 'If You Want Blood') as well as possession of cannabis. Mr. Rudd has some 'Big Balls' to get involved in something so shady - perhaps he should have tried 'Beating Around the Bush' a little more before going down the 'Highway to Hell' - He may need a Jailbreak if he's convicted because in New Zealand - the attempt to arrange a murder charge carries a 10 year jail sentence.
According to the BBC, Mr Rudd, 60, was released on bail after a brief appearance at Tauranga district court.
As part of his bail conditions, he must not have any contact with anyone involved in the alleged murder plot.
Local media reports say that the alleged plot targeted two men.
Rudd is scheduled to appear again in court on November 27.
**Update**
According to Rudd's attorney Paul Mabey, the charge of "attempting to procure murder" has been withdrawn, but he is still facing the drug charges as well as threatening to kill.
"The charge alleging an attempt to procure murder should never have been laid. The Crown Solicitor's opinion was not sought. The charge is now withdrawn, within 24 hours of Mr. Rudd's first appearance in court," Mabey said.
"Mr. Rudd has suffered unnecessary and extremely damaging publicity as a result of widespread and sensational reporting of a very serious allegation, which on any basis was never justified."
