A Delray Beach, FL, man used a dog leash to drag his girlfriend back inside his home during a violent altercation, police were called in to muzzle the man.
The Sun-Sentinel reports that the trouble started at around 8 a.m., when the couple began battling and 55-year-old Nicholas Vigliarulo pushed the woman to the ground, according to the arrest report.
The woman told police she was afraid and fled the house. Vigliarulo chased her to the front yard, where he ordered her to return inside to her bedroom. She refused, so he held her down and tied a dog leash around her neck in order to drag her into the house, police said.
She started screaming for help and was able to break free from his grasp. She ran to a neighbor's house and had them call the police.
Police found her with the leash around her neck and a small cut on her left ring finger, the report said. She told police she thought Vigliarulo had left the house, but police saw him walking back toward the residence, with his dog.
When officers approached Vigliarulo, they say he reached into the back waistband of his jeans. Police grabbed his right arm and retrieved an eight-inch, black hunting knife. Upon searching him, police found five folding knives, three zip ties, pliers and a pair of gloves.
Vigliarulo now faces false imprisonment, kidnapping, domestic battery and carrying concealed weapons charges.
