Download Round-Up for the week of August 29th

Contributed by: Email on 09/05/2011 09:46 AM [ comments Comments ]

It was a good week for new downloads and a busy week if you want to try out a new browser or email client. With hump day came new offerings from Firefox (who updated again last minute to 6.0.2 Sunday morning), Google and Opera. What was different is that they all released stable versions so this is a good time to try out something new. The popular Thunderbird email client was also updated with new and beta versions. These are all listed in order (oldest releases first) at the top of the "must have" section so you can browse them easily. Faceback has been really busy especially since we solved the problem blocking anyone outside of the USA. We have given away over 800 of the 1,000 IOBit Malware Fighter keys already. IOBit has also kicked in 500 IOBit Protected Folder Keys and that will start this week. Here are the links:

Mozilla Thunderbird 7.0 Beta 1:
Thunderbird makes emailing safer, faster and easier than ever before with the industry´s best implementations of features such as intelligent spam filters.
Majorgeeks: With the loss of Outlook Express under Windows 7 and the addition of Windows Live Mail that many dislike, Mozilla Thunderbird could be the alternative you are looking for. I had not tried it out in a long time and I love the newer interface, account setup wizard and just about everything. The beta is very stable.

Mac OS X icons
No download or description is available but it should be obvious what this is, a pile of icons that look like Max OSX Lion that you can use on your Windows 7 machine.

Mozilla Firefox 6.0.2 Final
Firefox is a small, fast and very easy to use browser that offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the ability to block pop-up windows and the tabbed browsing.

Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. Our goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language.
Majorgeeks: One of the best choices in email clients. It has the features of a professional product. Always reminded me of the Outlook that comes with Microsoft Office.
