The niece of fashion designer Ralph Lauren became so drunk and agitated on a Barcelona to New York flight that she caused the plane to be diverted to Shannon, IRE.
As soon as the plane landed gardaí arrested Jennifer Lauren, 41, of New York. She was charged with breaching the peace in the Killaloe District Court, which does not have an actual courthouse. So instead, the next best thing was used for the proceedings of a drunken breach of the peace charge; a pub.
According to U TV, she was accused of behavior likely to cause serious offence or annoyance, after being asked by a crew member to stop, and of breaching the peace with threatening, abusive or insulting behavior.
Lauren was granted bail on the condition that she stays in a hotel in Shannon with her travelling companions and lodges €2,500 of her own money to the court.
She must also surrender her passport and sign on at Shannon Garda Station on Tuesday night.
