This is not the scene you want to return to after leaving your child with a sitter. A man in Volusia County left his child with babysitter Candace Long so he could run some errands.
Apparently it was Long's birthday and she was not going to let watching the 2 year old get in the way of getting her drink on so, she brought the baby along for ride.
According to the report from the Volusia County Sheriff's Office obtained by the Orlando Sentinel, an intoxicated and confused Candace Long was passed out while holding the 2-year-old boy, who was only dressed in wet shorts and a T-shirt in 39-degree weather.
Deputies were called to the home at 1:25 a.m. after getting a report about an "unknown adult and young child who were sitting on the resident's screened-in porch."
When deputies arrived on scene; Long was incoherent, had no idea where she was and was equally clueless as to the identity of the 2 year old.
Long was arrested for child-neglect. Happy Birthday!
I am curious as to what type of "errands" are run after mid-night?
