Drunken duo attempt to flee robbery in trailered pontoon boat (Mugshots)

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 11/07/2014 11:16 AM [ comments Comments ]

A pair of drunken men from Alabama (the other Florida) broke into a warehouse in the town of Mulga, the two attempted to flee the scene in a trailered (and parked) pontoon boat after being confronted by an employee.

According to AL.com, Jefferson County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of shots fired at Lynnport Industries on Atwood Ferry Road in Mulga. When they arrived, an employee told them he had found two men inside the warehouse, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian.

The employee confronted them, and the men ran back out through the business's gates and boarded a pontoon boat they had parked down the road. When the employee approached them, one of the suspects opened fire with a shotgun.

The kicker in this bumbling voyage of stupidity is that they actually brought the boat! I almost could understand if they had no knowledge of the boat, but these two drove it to the location - on the trailer!

Coy Michael Falls, 55, and Austin Blackwell, 19, are charged with third-degree burglary, menacing and disorderly conduct. Both are being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
