Do you know what hurts more than stepping on a single Lego block with your barefoot? Being tased by Polk County sheriff's deputies and then getting tackled while drunkenly frolicking at a waterpark.
The incident began when Richard Campagna, 36, entered the Legoland Florida water park, according to witnesses Campagna appeared to be drunk. Staff at the park asked Campagna to leave but he refused and proceeded to run and jump into one of the park's attractions. He then splashed a deputy with water - that is when the tasering began.
Campagna was lucky as only one of the prongs penetrated his skin. Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, Carrie Horstman said, despite common misconceptions, the electrical discharge from taser poses no risk to a person who is in water.
Then, according to The Ledger, he pulled the probe out of his elbow, and it took multiple deputies as well as Legoland staff to chase him down and eventually arrest him, Horstman said.
"He was unruly," she said.
Campagna was arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, a felony, for splashing water on a deputy, as well as disorderly conduct and resisting officers without violence.
