Drunken wrong way driver blames GPS (Mugshot)

A Springfield, MA., man was arrested in Connecticut for DWI after he attempted to drive the wrong way on an off ramp in West Hartford. Robert Howe, 43, was seen by a West Hartford police officer assigned to DWI patrol in the area and was luckily able to stop the intoxicated man before he could get on the Interstate.

According to NBC Connecticut, the officer immediately went after the man and stopped him about 200 feet onto the ramp, according to police reports.
The driver, identified as Robert Howe, 43, of Springfield, Mass., told Officer Peter Senick that he was not from the area and was following the GPS on his phone, which led him to drive the wrong way on I-84.
During the course of the investigation it was found the Howe had a BAC of .101 and .095 respectively. Howe was arrested and charged with DWI and driving the wrong way. He was released on a $500 bond pending his March 6th court date.
