Facebook has admitted what we all have been aware of from previous reports; it is bad, and now with UK orders being cancelled Facebook vows to fix the issues.
The statement comes as negative user feedback continues to pile up, and Endgadget reports that Mobile News initially reported that UK pre-orders will be cancelled and they had confirmed this through various sources, who said that it was Facebook itself who made the decision, rather than HTC or either of the European carrier partners.
It was backed up with a statement from Orange and EE; "Following customer feedback, Facebook has decided to focus on adding new customization features to Facebook Home over the coming months. While they are working to make a better Facebook Home experience, they have recommended holding off launching the HTC First in the UK, and so we will shortly be contacting those who registered their interest with us to let them know of this decision. Rest assured, we remain committed to bringing our customers the latest mobile experiences, and we will continue to build on our strong relationship with Facebook so as to offer customers new opportunities in the future."
As we noted before, AT&T had confirmed that the HTC First would soon be discontinued and unsold inventory would be returned to HTC. AT&T sold fewer than 15,000 units nationwide through last week when the phone’s price was slashed to $0.99.
