The rumors of a possible dislike button have begun (again) following a statement from Mark Zuckerberg.
In a live streamed town hall Q&A Mark said he following:
“People have asked about the ‘dislike’ button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it,” he said. “Not every moment is a good moment if you share something that’s sad like a refugee crisis that touches you or a family member passes away, it may not be comfortable to ‘like’ that post. I do think it’s important to give people more options than liking it.”

We don’t see it happening; it’s just trouble from the get-go but we find it more likely that a larger range of ways to show your emotions is what you will see and probably in the next few weeks.
I have heard many news organizations running with the dislike button, most likely because it is being used as a headline on many "news" sites but it's simply speculation and not fact. If you read it, he simply says (at the end) that people need more options than simply "Like".
