Facebook Home Launch a Failure?

At the risk of insulting a half a million people in one shot (too late), it appears that many users, and possibly more, have read the negative reviews on Facebook home and installed it anyway in the first 10 days. Since the Facebook app itself for Android has a wild estimated download number between 100 and 500 million downloads, this could easily be considered a failure. Facebook itself is believed to have over a billion users. TheNextWeb points out the Instagram, by comparison, downloaded over 1 million in the first 24 hours.

Of course, most of these numbers are guesswork but we assume a lot of it is curiosity. The Facebook app is already connected to so much and still doesn’t work properly so we wouldn’t waste our time. I am still waiting for my phone to show the latest data from the Majorgeeks fan page which can take hours to sync correctly.
