Facebook newsfeed changes announced (Soapbox edition)

So, after all the hype, here is the new Facebook design. The claim from Zuckerberg is rich stories, different choice of feeds. They also promised, as expected, that the desktop and mobile version will now sync better.

(Hops on soapbox)

Here’s the thing. Facebook isn’t that complicated. Shouldn’t the product have worked between devices to begin with? I am on the internet, I am on Facebook, and shouldn’t that have worked from day one? So, congratulations to Facebook (assuming it works) for finally getting multiple devices to work in harmony. It only took you 9 years. Raises for all the CEO’s!

I, for one, don’t mind the changes. They are, as always, minor and it’s too easy to jump on the “waaaaaah” bandwagon. It’s the mob mentality to cry over every little Facebook change.

I am, however long since tired of pats on the backs from the simplest changes to software that does not work correctly to begin with.

P.S: The hoodie look is played out. Get a shirt with buttons.

(Hops off soapbox)
