Remember that "ticker" on Facebook that showed your friends activity and likes? No? It's been there since 2011, and now it's gone. Yay!

I, for one, don't want to know about their political posts, that they liked Walmart, just ate dinner, and pretty much, well, everything. I'm one of those people who just want to keep up with friends and family and check in a couple of times a day and post every few days, or less, as of the past couple of years.
No one has an answer why the ticker, commonly referred to as the "creeper feed," was removed but if one were to guess - money. It probably distracted from the ads nearby or engagement that Facebook wanted elsewhere. Currently, people see something different depending on their Facebook usage. We're seeing Facebook asking us to promote our pages, for example. So, money.
Techcrunch and Engadget have reached out to Facebook for comment as to why it was removed, and we expect they're making something up now. Regardless, we're glad to see it gone.
