Facebook is currently testing a way for users to make a post disappear in predetermined time amounts, the testing is only in certain areas at the moment.
A Facebook spokesperson told Mashable, "We're running a small pilot of a feature on Facebook for iOS that lets people schedule deletion of their posts in advance," no further information was offered on exactly how the process works.
In recent months, the company launched a similar app, Slingshot, while Facebook-owned Instagram launched Bolt. Both apps focused, in part, on allowing users to send messages that can expire.
The posts will indeed disappear from your timeline in the selected time frame, however the record itself is rumored to be stored by Facebook for as long as a month and a half after deletion.
One Twitter user in Auckland, New Zealand, posted a screen grab of the feature on her feed which shows the time allotments that are being tested.
