Fake Facebook for Business Scam Making the Rounds

Posted by: Timothy Weaver on 06/03/2015 10:12 AM [ comments Comments ]

A new scam has surface on Facebook whereby victims are faced with a notification form for a nonexistent social network’s Facebook for Business page as bait.

Users are seeing notifications directing them to a fake Facebook for Business page. Once there, they are asked to submit personal info such as their email addresses or phone numbers, passwords, security questions and the answers to those questions.

Once the information is obtained, victims are brought to another false page, which reads (unedited):

Thank you for contacting Facebook for Business.

Please wait for reply message via email address.

We have accepted your submission for approval, we will contact you shortly for your verification request, it may take up to 48h.

Sincerely,

Facebook for Business

Do not fall for this scam.
