The FBI, in concert with the Czech police, have arrested a Russian citizen in Prague. The suspect is thought to be a hacker that conducted cyber-attacks against the United States.
Czech police made the announcement on their website but did not release any additional info as to the suspects name or exactly what he was wanted for.
"Czech police carried out a successful joint operation with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation," the police said. "This time the objective of the police was a Russian national, suspected of committing hacker attacks on targets in the United States."
The arrest comes just weeks after the Obama administration accused Russia of hacking US institutions in an attempt to influence the presidential election.
The Czech judiciary will conduct a hearing regarding the extradion of the suspect to the United States.
