'Flash drive' left in airplane lavatory diverts American Airlines flight

Posted by: Jon Ben-Mayor on 01/06/2014 07:57 AM [ comments Comments ]

The device was taped to the wall inside a lavatory aboard an American Airlines flight bound for San Francisco, CA., the flight was diverted to Kansas City, MO., for fear that the device might be some type of incendiary device.

According to the Daily Mail, after the emergency landing, the plane was isolated to one side of the airport as officials investigated the mysterious flash drive.

After an extensive search of the aircraft, bomb and arson investigators concluded that there was no bomb. Rather, authorities found, the device was actually a small camera disguised as a flash drive and stashed in the bathroom.

Authorities have no clue as to who planted the device or why. I have a little hunch on why - the perpetrator(s) wanted a mile high memento.
