Police were called to a residence in Deltona, FL., on a domestic disturbance call - when deputies arrived they found an extremely intoxicated Howard Hendrix, 45, who promptly proceeded to resist deputies using his 500 pound size to his favor.
Police noted that Hendrix smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred during the arrest.
According to WESH, investigators said Hendrix, 6 feet tall and almost 500 pounds, simply dropped to the ground, refusing commands to stand.
He had to be dragged out of the residence and allegedly kicked a deputy in the leg during the encounter. Reports state that due to his large stature, Hendrix was not able to be transported in a patrol car and an 'alternative transport' was arranged.
Hendrix was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief, resisting an officer without violence and battery causing bodily harm - he is being held on $5,000 bond.
