Linda Norman was observed by a Sebastian police department patrol taking a left turn which she failed to negotiate the turn and slid into a water-filled roadside ditch.
When the officer made contact with Norman, who was uninjured, she needed assistance to leave the truck - partly due to the mud and partly due to the booze I'm sure. Once on terra firma, Norma told police that ending up in the ditch was all part of the plan, telling the officer "she meant to do it and she knew exactly what she was doing."
According to the affidavit obtained by Off the Beat with Will Greenlee the officer asked, "why she would intentionally drive her truck into the ditch and she said it was for attention."
Norman was noted as smelling of booze and said, “(f@) yea!” when queried about whether she’d been imbibing. The boozy bomber was administered the breathalyzer which came back with a BAC of 0.144 and 0.149 respectively.
She was charged with DUI and booked into Indian River County Jail.
