A woman in Tarpon Springs, FL., was arrested after she drove over a duck that refused to take her candy offering. It seems to be tough going for our feathered friends in the sunshine state this week.
According to arrest records obtained by Bay News9, Karie Lindgren, 36, is accused of stalking a duck before driving it over at a high rate of speed and killing the animal.
A witness told Tarpon Springs Police that he saw Lindgren first try to lure the duck with candy but when that didn't work she began stalking the duck and ran it over, according to an arrest affidavit.
Lindgren was arrested on a felony animal cruelty charge with a $5,000 bond. A police report indicated Lindgren may have mental health issues.
