Honesty is always key, however sometimes you should keep your honesty to yourself and retain the right to remain silent... it helps your defense attorney!
Kenneth Mote, 57, of Daytona Beach was involved in a motor vehicle accident that caused some property damage. When officers arrived on scene they discovered there were three children — ages 14, 12 and 3 — in Mote’s wrecked vehicle.
Mote initially told officers he had only consumed 2-3 beers but that account was quickly refuted by Mote's girlfriend who had also been inside the vehicle. No one was injured in the crash.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal Mote was taken to the Ormond Beach police station where he agreed to do a breath test. He blew .204 and .206, almost three times the legal limit of .08 when a person is considered impaired, police said.
"While completing the breath test Defendant (Mote) stated that he was going to blow the machine up because he had so much to drink," officers wrote in their report.
Mote was charged with DUI causing damage to personal property and three counts of child neglect.
