Florida Friday: Highly intoxicated mom attempts to pick up kids at school, gravity wins (Mugshot)

Lindsey Scanlon was arrested at Lourdes Academy in Daytona Beach, after she was seen falling onto the road as she was attempting to get back inside her vehicle. Scanlon was at the school to pick up her children at around 6:30pm when the incident occurred. Her children, ages 4 and 5, were left standing alone by the roadside watching their mom struggle with gravity.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Scanlon was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect without great harm. A school official contacted the Department of Children & Families. When DCF worker Shawn Gillard arrived at the school, she saw Scanlon’s children on the side of the road in the dark attempting to help their mother get up, the report shows. But because the children are so small, they could not lift the 100-pound Scanlon, the report states.
Gillard told police that the youngsters were standing less than 5 feet from the road, which had “heavy flowing traffic.” And a slowly flowing mom...
Scanlon was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
