If you are going to steal a vehicle there are a few things that really matter - speed, skills, gas, a fully charged battery, and some smarts. This particular Florida GTA suspect had all but 2 and it landed him in jail.
Gordon Raymond, 25, was arrested after the truck he had stolen from a church (it had the keys inside) after partying at a local bar where, according to him, his girlfriend had left him with no ride home in the wee hours of the morning.
At around 4:20 A.M. a deputy sheriff noticed the truck parked at a business and called in the plate number - which came back..... yup, stolen - at this point Raymond came up to the deputy and asked for a jump start for the truck. The deputy, who I am sure was quite amused by the display of rocket scientist like smarts, advised Mr. Raymond that he would not be giving him a jump start but instead would give him a ride - to jail, for grand theft auto.
Wow!
