Only in Florida would you find a police department asking the public's help in locating the owner of a possibly abandoned Flintstones car. After all, who would abandon this sweet ride?
The vehicle, complete with zebra-print seat covers, was parked in the public right of way and had already been red tagged.
Key West officials wanted to tow it away, but it can't be considered abandoned until they go through the process of attempting to find its owner.
But early Thursday afternoon, the city announced on Facebook that they had found the owner of the vehicle. Sadly, police did not identify the owner so we could get the story behind the car but being Florida residents we suspect the answer is "because" or possibly even "why not?" I've met people who would make something just like this and look at you like YOU were the one who was nuts for asking.
