A Vero Beach man, allegedly high on Flakka, attempted to break into the Indian River County Jail by smashing his car through the front door and then into the razor wire fence.
Patrick Rempe, 24, then attempted to ascend the razor, but he didn't get far before becoming entangled.
According to WFTV 9, Rempe is accused of then driving at a high rate of speed into a security fence outside Building E at the jail. When he was not able break through with the car, Rempe got out and scaled the fence.
He became entangled in razor wire lining the top of the fence and had to be rescued by emergency workers.
He told deputies he was “high on flakka” (a dangerous synthetic cathinone drug called alpha-pyrrolidinopentiophenone) and was trying to visit friends in the jail.
Rempe is facing a slew of charges including felony criminal mischief, battery on a law enforcement officer and obviously driving under the influence.
He just wanted to go high for the holidays!
