A man in Gainsville, FL., was arrested after he defied a protective order and tracked down a woman and her child; the man man became irate after he decided that the child did not look enough like him to be his son and smashed a 4-foot-tall floor fan.
According to the Gainsville Sun the protective order was filed against 36-year-old Alexander Arroyo in Brooklyn in 2009 forbidding him from any contact with the teen, his mother and three other persons until October 2014, the teen’s mother told Gainesville Police that Arroyo tracked her down in early July.
The woman told police she allowed Arroyo to stay in her home because she felt sorry for him, but she eventually gave him some money and told him to leave.
Arroyo travelled to Iowa for a few weeks then returned, telling the woman he “did not like it in Iowa,’’ according to the GPD report.
Arroyo has been staying with the family since then. The woman told police she did not try to get him to leave again because he threatened her and she was afraid.
Arroyo was arrested on charges of child abuse and violation of a domestic violence injunction. He was being held at the Alachua County jail on Monday on a $75,000 bond.
